Consultation
|
Before your consultation with the surgeon, we strongly advise you to meet with one of our experienced Patient Coordinators, many of whom have
been with us for more than five years.
The pre-consultation meeting is not directed at discussing detailed clinical issues; that is the
responsibility of your surgeon. However, many of our coordinators have had cosmetic surgery and they are ideally placed to discuss many of
the non-clinical aspects and a good bit of the clinical aspects of the procedure you are considering.
Your patient coordinator's duties are as follows:
- To explain the process from the surgeon’s consultation to the operation itself and through to the post-operative recovery period.
- To provide you with an Information Pack concerning the procedures you are considering. This pack highlights the benefits and potential consequences of surgery.
- To show you the possible surgical results using computer imaging when appropriate.
- To offer pre and post-operative photographs of previous patients and to put you in touch with these patients for their views and opinions if you wish.
- Your patient coordinator will clearly explain the fee structure and all associated financial issues.
Our patient coordinators have helped many people looking into the benefits of cosmetic surgery. They will be familiar with most of the issues.
Whilst they will try to answer your questions as fully as their experience and training allows, you must remember that only the surgeon is qualified
to give clinical advice.
Your next step after your consultation is to schedule your procedure. Some minor procedures, laser treatments, Botox Injections and skin care
applications can be performed during an office visit. Other surgical procedures will require a pre-operative examination by your surgeon.
You will be given a list of surgeons to choose from with their qualifications. An appointment would then be scheduled for a second visit.
At that time, specific instructions will be reviewed and arrangements made for your surgery.
