About Me
“I earned my medical degree from Baghdad Medical School in 1999 and embarked on my journey in the field of surgery. I began my Basic Surgical Training at Leeds Teaching Hospital, Yorkshire, where I honed my skills and expertise.
My commitment to continuous learning and academic excellence led me to achieve two degrees from the University of Hull: a Diploma in Social Health and an MSc in Education & Development. In addition, I pursued a Medical Doctorate in Surgery at the University of Leeds, bridging the gap between clinical practice and research methodology.
I furthered my specialization in Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery during my time in South Wales, with a particular focus on performing cancer resections of the stomach and esophagus.
I hold accreditation from the Joint Advisory Group on GI Endoscopy (JAG), underscoring my competence as an endoscopist, capable of delivering high-quality Diagnostic and Therapeutic upper and lower GI endoscopy care.
My professional journey brought me to the role of Consultant Upper GI, Laparoscopic, and General Surgeon at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. In this capacity, I perform a wide range of laparoscopic procedures, leveraging my expertise to deliver exceptional care to patients.
I take pride in my innovative approach to surgical techniques, with a special focus on minimally invasive procedures and surgical weight loss interventions to address weight-related issues. My career has been marked by a commitment to clinical excellence, supported by strong communication skills and a dedication to teaching and training medical professionals at various levels.
With over 25 years of experience, I remain dedicated to providing the highest quality of care and contributing to the advancement of surgical knowledge and practice. I am known for my honesty, hard work, friendliness, and unwavering motivation to excel in the field of surgery.”
