Buttock Enhancement Surgery

There are several techniques and procedures that fall under the “buttock enhancement” umbrella and they include the following:

• Buttock Augmentation: Buttock augmentation can be achieved through either the use of implants or through transferring your existing fat (BBL), or sometimes a combination of both. Your surgeon may choose between a variety of incision patterns and techniques. Buttock augmentation is an inpatient procedure surgery done under general anaesthesia and takes around 2-3 hours.
• Buttock Implant: During a butt implant surgery, an incision will be made either on the top of both sides of your upper buttocks, toward the bottom in both gluteal creases, or with one incision placed down the centre of the sacrum, or the crease between the buttocks. Then a silicone implant specially made for the buttocks is inserted either in the muscle or above the gluteal muscle on each side.
• Fat Grafting: In this procedure, liposuction is used to remove excess fat from donor areas in your body. After the fat is removed and filtered, it will be injected into the buttocks through small injections all over your behind.
• Buttock Lift: This procedure may require extensive incisions. Incision length and pattern depend on the amount and location of excess skin to be removed. It is performed under intravenous sedation and general anaesthesia based on the choice of your surgeon. One common technique of gluteal lift uses an incision just below the waistline and is combined with an abdominoplasty incision in a body contouring procedure. Liposuction may be used for improved contouring as well.
• Another technique uses an incision just below the buttocks and is placed in the crease between the buttocks and the upper thigh. The excess skin and tissues are removed resulting in a more defined crease and sometimes smooths the skin of the back of the upper leg.

You can resume normal activities soon after the procedure, and residual swelling will subside gradually over time. You will be able to see results immediately but should expect results to settle by six months after the procedure.

As for butt augmentation with implants, you can expect a little more recovery time as the procedure is more invasive. You can expect swelling and bruising and a recovery period of several weeks. Final results may take several months to settle and appear as the implants integrate into the area.

Buttock lift surgery involves larger incisions than buttock augmentation, and recovery from the procedure may take a bit longer. You should expect some pain, bruising, and swelling in the treated areas, which will subside gradually. It will take a few months for results to become apparent, but you will see preliminary results much sooner than this.
